PUSH lab - (over)protection

1/9/2017

PUSH Lab, an 8-day residential laboratory with focus on the topic of (over)protection led by CCHA/krokusfestival is taking place from 8 - 17 September. 14 artists have been selected through an application process in Scotland, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and Norway.

The Lab will focus around the idea of 'risk', playing outdoors and how we can play with that as makers of theatre and dance for children.  As part of this opportunity artists will spend time in the woods at Dommelhof (a Cultural Centre focusing on circus, street arts and transdisciplinary arts) and at SPOTS Festival (a festival of site-specific work in Hasselt)

Choreographic work

Choreograph: Naja Lee Jensen

The skin is the body's largest organ. It is the surface on which we meet the world. The skin defines other peoples first impression of us and it defines the ego, we know. The skin is a limitation and a security. A lot of people do not wish to donate their skin, when they die. Because without the skin you can not recognize yourself. Without your skin you can be anybody.

UPCOMING

MARAN | PREMIERE NOVEMBER 20, 2015

Are you prepped for robbery, rape, torture, assault, the sudden need to cut someone with a kitchen knife, the urge to jump off a bridge, being buried under a thick layer of dead hair, zombies, loneliness, blood coming out of your eyes, nuclear leaks, the realization that you've killed someone, that your face slowly starts to disappear?

MARAN is an investigation of humans´ fascination with horror. The performance is a stand-alone sequel to SKOOP´s first performance, Malted Milk from 2011.

By and with: Ida Grimsgaard (NO), Mina Lejbølle (DK), Hanna Reidmar (SE), Josephine Kylén Collins (SE/USA), Jessica Berg (SE), Liv Pflug (DK)
